The name of our brand comes from Bodiam, a small village in East Sussex, England, where the founders first met and where the ethos of the brand took shape. Rooted in the Old English “Boda’s homestead,” the name speaks to belonging. Foundry refers to transformation, the point at which material is altered by heat or pressure and cannot return to what it was before. Together, the name reflects a belief that the home, like the objects within it, is shaped gradually through care, repetition, and time.

Our inspiration comes from items that belonged to our grandparents, objects they used daily that were fifty or even 200 years old, still in perfect condition and serving their purpose. The first product we ever made was a simple coffee mug. A mug used every day, a product that becomes part of a daily ritual.

Five years on from starting the brand, we are now working with wood and other materials. Entirely handmade and crafted from high-quality raw materials, we focus on creating products that stand the test of time.

We also work with cafés and restaurants to design unique bespoke ceramics to match their aesthetic.
